Nursing is a growing profession that goes beyond caring for the sick. It brings together nursing education, clinical practice and research.

What nursing courses are there?

B.Sc Nursing, M.Sc Nursing, M.Phil Nursing, Ph.D Nursing and super-specialisation courses.

What career options does nursing offer?

Staff nurse, teacher, nurse entrepreneur, nurse researcher, nurse clinician, nurse specialist and air nurse.

Where can a nurse work?

Hospitals, nursing colleges and schools, pharmaceutical companies, industrial health settings, long-term care facilities, military service, advisory and consulting roles, nursing bureaus, airlines and railways.

Are the courses open to male students?

Yes, all courses are open to male students.

What is the medium of instruction?

English and Hindi for GNM. English for B.Sc, Post Basic B.Sc and M.Sc Nursing.

How are exams conducted?

Exams are held yearly as per Barkatullah University / MPMSU guidelines.

What are the college timings?

9:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Admission

What is the eligibility for admission?

GNM: 12th pass with at least 40% marks in any subject. B.Sc Nursing: 12th pass with at least 45% in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English. 5% relaxation for SC/ST. Full admission criteria.

When can I apply, and what is the last date?

Applications open in April/May. The last date is 30 September.

How do I apply?

Submit the filled application form with a DD or cash at the time of admission. After you get a call letter from the college, report on the counselling day and pay the fees.

How much does the prospectus cost?

Rs 500, by hand or by DD (subject to change).

How do I get the prospectus?

From the accountant's office at the college, or download it from the website.

Fees and scholarships

What is the fee structure?

Fees are as fixed by the government fee fixation committee.

Are there other fees besides tuition?

Yes, hostel accommodation and mess charges, as listed in the hostel fee schedule.

Are concessions or scholarships available?

Chirayu College of Nursing is self-financed and receives no government grants, so no concessions or scholarships are offered to students admitted under the foreign/NRI quota. For Indian students from Madhya Pradesh, the Government of MP gives scholarships to eligible students under the caste quota.

Campus and recognition

Is the college recognised?

Yes. It is recognised by the Indian Nursing Council and, at state level, by the MP Nurses Registration Council.

Is staying in the hostel compulsory?

No. Day-scholar permission is available with the Principal's consent. Separate hostels are available for male and female students. Hostel details.
